Blast of Fun

Hi again,

So many things are happening. Life is pretty crazy but we always have to set aside some time for ourselves... Not an easy thing to do as Mums.

Kids getting to school, arguing with each other and you! Oh my Gosh!! The level of their voice has no limit! Love them dearly but they are all consuming at times. :)

That is how it SHOULD be but you need to make sure you have time for you!

Find your thing... Like most of us reading this post it is craft. To make something, whether this is mixed media, off the page, cardmaking or scrapbooking is our happy place. That list isn't conclusive of course but we like to make pretty things!

I set myself challenges sometimes to break things up. At the moment it isn't working! lol I have lost my mojo... again! I seem to want to make things and then sit at my desk and I can't think of any of the ten tonne of things I wanted to do an hour ago!

During the last 30 day colouring challenge I coloured some images and waited for the time and inspiration to make them into cards.

I haven't finished all of the images but here is the first.
This stamp set is from My Favourite Things named 'Space Explorer'

Copics Used

Sponged with Ground Expresso, Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass.
When I sponged the ground expresso (I didn't want it really dark) I sponged random areas so the other colours can shine.

Flick of water and flicks of white paint for stars and it is all done.

I wish you a week of happiness and crafty fun. See you next week.

OH THE SHAME!!

I know I am the only person in the world who has ever gone to sold a stamp set without using it!!! I know, I know.... terrible person ha ha ha.

We have all done it and maybe hid the fact we have never used it, apart from maybe stamping it for a catalogue.
Well this set I think needs to go but it was just that... Unused! Such a waste of money which can have it's own shame. I spent that money.... and never used it!

No shame here! I've decided I'm going to learn from it and move it on to another person who possibly couldn't afford to buy it new! That's what I'm telling myself.

I couldn't let it go without stamping it out and playing with it at least once!
It is a cute set, it just isn't my style anymore and we change as we got older and learn more about ourselves.
I used pinterest to spark some ideas.

I masked out the peacock and added some flourishes and some flowers stamped in random places.

Inks- both cards are the same colours
Marina Mist- love this colour, I know it is gone but I just loved it!
Emerald Mist
Pumpkin Pie
Crushed Curry

I am not a demonstrator that does parties and gets rid of old cardstock. It's not going to happen. I like the colours and that is that. :)

I wanted to ground my peacock so I used G14 and G17.

To finish it all off I gold embossed some dots as I felt it just needed a little something!

Side note- My house got hit by lightening!

It has been soo annoying but thankfully no major damage just annoying things. Internet died, one T.V. died (it was a smart TV... not so smart, but makes sense because it connects to the internet) it appears the lightening struck something related to that!

BUT did you know, when this happens lots of people lose their garage door! Which I totally couldn't understand! Theories went around regarding that it is because of the remote... blah blah blah.

Yesterday, I found out ( when it finally got fixed after nearly 6 weeks of no garage door and one tv down. My husband sorted the internet( when 3 teenagers and no net... thank goodness! They thought they were dying!)

Any who...

It goes back to the thing that nothing lasts anymore! Years ago they use to have some big (like a nut, don't quote me!) thing. Now they make things in China and they put in 3 little cheap parts and one dies, it is fine. Two die and... she no work! ha ha. So they are now sensitive to things and this is why!

Your welcome! I know you always wanted to know this!

Anyway we are now back to normal apart from furniture that had to go cos the insurance replaced the TV with a bigger TV which didn't fit the old TV unit. Now.... I can't get rid of the unit! No one wants the older fashion units where the tv sits in the unit not on it! So annoying but never mind.

Gees I've had some things happen lately... stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by. Take Care

Too Cool for School

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but there is SOOO much pretty paper and you keep buying more. You physically have to restrain yourself  from buying more....

I am currently caught in that loop of drooling over all the pretty paper out that. Since finding out how  to make albums.... that I never use lol because I don't actually scrapbook. Coco Vanilla...... STUNNING...... Kaisercraft Whisper, Pen and Ink and don't get me started on Kaisercraft's Greenhouse.... Why do they have to make soo many pretty papers..... For suckers, I mean people, like me! LOL
People are suckers just..... it's soooooo pretttyyyyy

Today's project is another album this time for a new preppie in school. First year of school are called Preps or Fondation students, depends abit on area

This paper I loved soooo much I have 2, yes 2, of the smaller packs of this collection and a large pack of the more plainer version of this collection.... So there will be another larger version to come.

I need to find a way to use all this paper some how!

It is very bright and colourful range of papers, perfect for the school years!

I added a pocket on the front as I felt it was missing something. I also added 3 photo mats.

The paper is abit hidden in this photo the pencils on the paper line up perfectly. With another pocket with quite a few mats.
The pages are staged. I used tutorial from LMSCreations, I am not up to a level to do these things from scratch yet. I have altered things slightly to make it my own a little bit. First step I suppose to doing one from scratch on my own.
Little pocket with a photo mat in the edge. Sticker is also a Kaisercraft I added it wonky as I thought primary school art is never straight. ha ha.
This opens up accordian style. See below.
Double flap with a tuck spot on the inside.

A couple of little pockets with photo mats.

With a little magnet to hold things closed. Pocket on the left.

Opened up.

A little magnet to hold the 4 little flip panels closed.

Inside of the back cover with another pocket.

 Back cover.

That is it. Lots of photos.

Thankyou for stopping by!

Congrats

I have recently graduated with a Diploma of Auslan. Some of you know this...

I had a woman in my class that I had to make this for....

On the back of her laptop she had almost this image and every time I see it I thought of this image.
It is a 49th & Market Ballerina Stamp. I believe it is discontinued as I can't find it anywhere.

A couple of weeks ago I had a card I couldn't tell you what I coloured it with apart from Copics and this is another....

I really love how it turned out.

The sentiment was a Concord & 9th Layers of Love

Next week I should have some cards with more information on colouring.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Album

Good Morning...

Today I have a little bit of a different project. One, I have been really enjoying doing lately! So I made an album for one of my oldest friends using the Simple Stories Always and Forever range. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I was going to with it!

I also had some old handmade paper at home I wanted to use.

There isn't much I can say about it so sit back and enjoy the photos. If you have  any questions just leave a comment.

Disclaimer: Now the weather is starting to get cooler I am still trying to find a good time to take a photo, so some of the photos are a little bit darker.

I do hope you have enjoyed the photos. See you all next week.

Make a Difference

There isn't much I can say about this stamp image. I have had it for years and years and while doing the 30 Day colouring challenge

I can't even tell you how I coloured it, as it was before I started to write down what I am using.

What I can tell you is the embossing folder!

It is stunning!! It is the 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder called Botanicals. You can find it here. I imprinted one other cardstock panel can't wait to use it.

The other thing I can tell you is the sentiment stamp. It is Stampin Up's Artfully Aware.

One last close up for you...

Thanks for stopping by...

Full speed ahead

Hellooo again, life has been crazy. I am Matron of Honour in my friends upcoming wedding and life is busy helping her not to lose her mind! ( her brother had a close call with Chicken Pox!!) Thank goodness it is all better!

All it is all over and I'm trying to get my juices going again. Leave a comment about how you get the mojo happening again.

Today I have a card using the Uniquely Creative stamp set 'Hello Lovely' I had another vision for this card but decided it was not going to work as well and went with a more simpler option.

The images were coloured over a couple of days with the The Daily Markers 30 day coloring challenge on Instagram.

Ive sponged the background with Ground Espresso, Faded  Jeans and Tumbled Glass and I did my usually and splatter a little bit of water and waited a little bit and dabbed off. It also adds to the 'shelter from the storm' vibe.
Looking closer to the characters, the colouring looks abit odd but this is because of wanting the card to look strongly lit from behind.

Copics I used (cos I pretty much always use Copics!)
Skin E04, E11, E01, E000
Hair E49, E59, E25, E53
Shirt YG17, YG06, YG03
Jeans B93, B95, B99
Shoes C7, 5, 3

Copics
Cow
W7, 5, 2, 0
C7, 5, 3
Duck
E42, E41, E40

YR27, 24, 12, 01
Pig
E99, 97, 95
Frog
YG17, 06, 03
Now confession....

The shelter isn't a stamp... I drew it! :O I wanted a simple shelter that my boy could stand under and of course I had nothing that big. I've been watching the awesome Sandy Allnock lately so.... I winged it!

I'm a little bit proud of it! I basically drew it and it doesn't matter if it is abit NQR, it's wood!
Copics for wood
E59, 47,37, 33

I hope you enjoy. I look forward to seeing you next week.
