Craftroom Adventure Challenge

Good Morning,

Over on Facebook we have a page where a group of us post different things and we have a monthly challenge.

January's challenge is to use buttons. I think buttons are a hard one to use for a focal point. But anything round could possibly be a button. Great for men's cards, very versatile for lots of things but I find cards alot harder to add them to.

I want to look at some of my stamps and see if I can't find anything rounded that I could use them for, so stay tuned to see if there is another card with something abit more of a ...odd image.

The first card is the proper card but I had abit of cardstock left over so I used it for a more everyday card that my kids (they are young still) can give to friends or something. So it isn't too flash. lol

Fairly simple little card. I have used Paper Rose die to create the ground and a My Favourite Things cloud stencil to create the clouds. I used Weathered Wood and Forest Moss to highlight the ground and give it abit more depth.
The sentiment is a Altenew set that has different Birthdays. It's called Birthday Builder. Great all rounder set. I think I will get sooo much use out of this set.

The little bonus card for you. One that isn't soo lovely, I feel. I used leftover cardstock that was on my table and made a firework card that the boys can give to a my friend and I haven't spent soo much time involved in making it.

Is that just me?? I find cards that people have given the boys pushed into drawers and just not loved. (They are boys and kids still, lol). The good ones I usually grab before it disappears, never to be seen again, into their rooms. Ha ha ha.
For this card I used Soft Sky cardstock, same as the first card. I stamped in Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant and Real Red using two images out of Birthday Background stamp set. The 'Hooray" is a Neat and Tangled image, which is soo awesome and big.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

CAS Christmas Challenge.

A few years ago I came across a blog for Christmas challenges. I think back then it was called ABC Christmas challenge.
Well, after last years mess with study and stress I was very late in even, making my Christmas cards!! Like, as she shy's away, I think I sent them out including the overseas ones Christmas Eve! :/ Not good!

So I did a little search and found www.caschristmascardchallenge.blogspot.com

So below is my  entry.
I recently got some of the Zig Clean Clear pens. I know I'm abit behind some people but here in Australia it isn't easy to find them and not Hock a Kidney for them! I have since found a cheaper set with more than I got them but I bought the 36 and frankly they fit in my container perfectly and we will see if I 'need' more. Hope not. ha ha
I silver embossed using the Simon says stamp Snowflake outline and dropped in different blues.
The blues I used were:
Cobalt Blue
Persian Blue
Blue and
Blue Gray

I did then go around the outline of the snowflakes with Blue Gray to highlight and bring out the snowflakes.

The sentiment is a Darkroom Door Christmas stamp set DDRS103 Merry Christmas, which then disappeared off the face of the earth within 2 minutes of me using it! Please tell me I'm not the only one!!? Pleaseee Hopefully I can find the set before the stamp goes for a walk so the two can be reunited!

I originally wanted a Merry Christmas stamp but all the ones in my stash were too big.

Thanks for checking in. See you soon.
I finished it off with Liquid Pearls Platinum ( cos I didn't have a proper silver so adjust)

Pearl Ex

So I've been looking at the ever talented Jennifer McGuire. My mojo was MIA. She was playing with Perfect Pearls.

If you don't know there isn't much difference between Perfect Pearls and Pearl Ex really. But there is one you really need to remember. Pearl Ex needs a fixative and Perfect Pearls, which is a Ranger product doesn't. You can use a spray fixative or if you are careful you can use hairspray, but be careful with how much you use and how close you use it. I really don't like hairspray, it is much better to use a workable spray.

I have used a couple of different combinations of distress inks.

This is Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch. After masking the panel off I sponged the ink and brushed Inference Red Pearl Ex over the top. This will adhere to the ink as it is still wet. Sealed with the fixative and ran that through my Big Shot with We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folder Gem. The Happy Birthday is a MFT die. The little heart is a Simon Says Die, I was busting for some cute little heart dies and this was perfect.

The next one is Antique Linen and Vintage Photo with Perfect Pearls Kiwi. I had some marks on the white area so off with it's border and I just mounted that up. So a very clean and simple card. Again with the hearts and this time the die is a Stampin up die Thankful, which unfortunately it is retired but you can easily use the "thanks" out of the "Hello You" thinlets.

I love how the Perfect Pearls has turned the distress Ink bronze.

Next is with Hickory Smoke and the Kiwi Perfect Pearls. This is embossed with the Numbers folder in the Next Level range.

I hope you like my cards.
Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hello,

Its been awhile, I'm hoping things will settle now my study is done.

I am back from my holidays, although I not officially back to work till Saturday for one job and the 29th for the other.

We have had a very relaxing holiday, little bit of crafting with my nieces, abit of relaxing visiting my Great Aunt in Nsw and coming back and started to de-clutter and sort things out that have been neglected for the longest time while studying.

Today I have a card I made with an Art Impressions stamp names "Computer Guy". If you know my husband this is pretty correct of him.

I did google this image as I needed ideas on all the cables and 'metal' involved in the stamp.

I've stamped with Memento Tuxedo Ink and added the sentiment on the bottom.

Copics I have used are:

For the two drawers I have used E77,74,71 and red ones R05,24 and 46
Desk E31, 35, 57, 79

Jeans BV20, 23, 25, 29
Computers screens B21, 23, 24
Rest of metal/cords/ computers C7 5, 3, 2, 1, 100
