Polkadoodles Crafts Surprise! Winnie Celebrations | Adding dimension to pre coloured Images

Hi All,

Today's card is using products from Polkadoodles Crafts. The challenge theme this week Landscape Cards. I choose to use an image from the Winnie Celebration collection called "Surprise!"

Card Size Aus A6 which is 10.5 x 14.9cm (4 1/8 x 5 7/8)
Feature Panel Size 9.7 x 14.1cm (3 9/16 x 5 5/16)
Matt 10 x 14.4cm (3 7/8 x 5 9/16)

If  you were new to colouring or not interested in colour (me...a colourist says HOW? ;D lol) a pre-coloured image is perfect! Polkadoodles Crafts has pre coloured and black and white images. The pre-coloured images can sometimes be rather flatly coloured, NOT Polkadoodles so much dimension in their images that you don't have to do anything! However, you can, if you want, add more detail. Which makes them perfect for beginner colourist! You can start as simple as using cool greys or warm greys ( cool for colours like blue and purple and green, warm for reds, yellows and oranges) or take it further to matching the colours. I tend to use browns deepen reds or give extra detail to hair.

Added details like white gel pen on polka dots add even more and take it to the next level.

Using pencils mean you can add very fine details, like deepening a cats markings or the lines on a party hat or even adding "fur"

I added the fur using a medium coloured brown trying to match it with the dogs fur and lightly doting the area. By doing quickly it gives you tiny dash lines and I found it didn't always mark the image so not too dark. You don't want the dashes to be very long. It won't look right.

Moving Along With The Times Challenge Blog | Coloring Medium | Copic Coloring

Hi All,

Today's card is using products from Whipper Snapper. First of the month means there is a new challenge over on the Moving Along With The Times Blog. This month the theme is Colouring Medium. You can use any medium you want to colour with. This is my jam so I am looking forward to seeing all the creations.

Card Size Aus A6 which is 10.5 x 14.9cm (4 1/8 x 5 7/8)
Feature Panel Size  8.7 x 13cm (3 1/2 x 5 1/8)

The background is ink blended and I have splattered water over the distress inks. On the top of that I have dotted (as I was being lazy and didn't want to bring out white paint) white gel pen here and there, not thinking of where to place the dots it is only to form "snow"

I also hand cut a wavy line in 2 scraps of cardstock to form snow mounds.
