Cosmic Shimmer Pixi Powders

Here in Australia, we got introduced to the shimmery pretty powders before Nuvo powders but I believe they are very similar products. Well, they were the first I found anyway. They are similar to Colorbursts and... there is another Brusho!! But these have Mica powder in them.

You can use these powders in a few ways. Alot of people like to apply the water first and then TAP (do not squeeze them!) but I like to tap colour on first then spray the water, only because I like seeing the colours pop altogether. It is purely personal choice, in that area. If you were wanting a lot lighter application then spray the water first.

One thing I have found is that you need to let it air dry, heating it seems to disagree with the powders.

Recipe:
Pixi Powders
Lava Red
Midnight Blue
Plum Twist
Kaisercraft Whimsy Wishes
White Pearls
Vellum
StarDust Stickles
Multi Matt Medium

Once you have completed the background it is literally just layering up the elements. I placed foam under each element. Finished it off with pearls and stickles scattered around.

Paper Rose Lead and Element Builder

I don't know about you but I find solid stamps pretty daunting. Unless it is you are happy just to stamp them and leave it, which is fine, but I have trouble.

My solution is to use my Copics to add extra dimension and interest.

Recipe:
Paper Rose Leaf and Element Set 18620
Paper Rose Sentiments 2 17904

Distress Inks
Weathered Wood
Pumice Stone
Victorian Velvet
Milled Lavender
Bundled Sage
Peeled Paint
Glack Glaze Pen
Grey cardstock
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
Clear embossing powder

Copics Used:
BG99, BG96, BG
V99, V95, V93
B97, B95, B93

I stamped the image 2/3 times using either Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint or both. This was because I was using distress ink and solid stamps. Once all the stamping is done, I then added some texture with Copics. Some making them into roses some just adding extra interest to the images.

Altered Tissue Box

Today, is  a very different post than I usually do.

I have had a wood tissue box for AGESSSS! I mean ages!

I also had papers from Kaisercraft Craft a noon. I wanted to use it for cards so I cut it up into 14.4 x 10cm. I regretted it only because I do a variety of different projects. If you were a card making only it would of been fine. But for me it wasn't a good choice. They would of been awesome for an album... but... doesn't matter. We use what we have and make it work.

I had alot of cut-a-part elements, large pieces (which I used in this project) and smaller ones as well. The collectables have something for everyone, knitting, sewing, painting... Then I had alot of scraps to play with as well, so really the scraps were very useful as I didn't have odd shapes to try to incorporate. It took some of the decision out of the process , it worked out well.

This project is very simply in regards to work.I had already cut everything out, quite a while ago and the Collectables (ephemera, Kaisercraft called them Collectables) So it was literally decided where to put it and plonk it down. No extra sponging or cutting out. You can be I had elements I just wanted to use it up.

I do hope you enjoyed my project.

CASE me a Christmas Card

Today I am joining my friend Michelle Lupton in her challenge CASE Me a Christmas Card. You can check out the card I CASE here

 Recipe:
Crealies Stencil CLMM27
Distress Oxide Ink-
Aged Mahogany
   Barned Door
Abandoned Coral
Clear Embossing Powder
Ranger Emboss It Dabber
Versamark Embossing Ink
0.3 Copic Multiliner Pen
Taylor Expressions Simple Strips Christmas
Stickles Star Dust

I made a mark on the top and bottom of a 14.4 x 10cm panel at 3cm then 7.2cm down the right hand side. I masked this off with painters tape- delicate surface.

The stencil I used doesn't have a  name just the code but it looked the most like little Christmas baubles. I didn't have red embossing powder so I used Distress Oxides. I need to try this with other embossing powders!

Once the ink was blended I used the Dabber first but my area was too big for it so I put out the big guns and used Versamark. After the clear embossing powder was applied and melted I used the Multiliner to add 2 thin lines to frame the embossing.

I used a T ruler to make sure the sentiment is straight and applied the Stickles to some of the 'baubles'

I hope you like my card and you can check out the video here.
